Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and entrepreneur. Her most well-known character is Emily Fields on the Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. After having a great time with modeling and dance, she decided to get into acting, and began acting classes in Toronto. Mitchell was able to land a couple of commercials and guest roles on television series. Her biggest break came when she was cast as Emily Fields. Her acting skills were praised by critics and viewers alike. Her career on screen began with the film Dreamland, followed by Mother's Day, as well as The Possession of Hannah Grace. Her part in the series of psychological thrillers "You" brought her more fame. She has written an adult novel called Bliss along in collaboration with Michaela Blaney. Shay Mitchell was born on April 10, 1987, and grew up on the streets of Ontario, Canada to parents Mark Mitchell and Precious Garcia. Her mother is a Filipina is her maternal grandmother. Her father is Irish as well as Scottish. Mitchell is also a cousin of Lea Salonga, a famed musician and musical theater actor. When she was a kid, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary before transferring to the West Vancouver Secondary School. When she was a teen, she was already working as a model for companies in many nations. She traveled to Barcelona and Bangkok after which she returned to Toronto to pursue acting classes.
